THE MAGIC AND BEAUTY OF ARABIAN NIGHTS BY: CLAUDIA OTT

As part of its "101 Arabian Nights" program, the Arabic Association for Cultural Exchange was presenting an evening dedicated to Arabic literature under the motto "the Magic and Beauty of Arabian Nights". Ms. Claudia Ott, the German Orientalist, had been accompanied by two distinguished musicians: Hadi Alizadeh, and Kioomars Musayyebi.

That magical night recital by Ms. Ott shall take us to a full-length journey of the Orient, and the ‘Tales of Arabian Nights’. The evening has focused on Arabic literature, and the magic of oriental music. Story telling was both in German, and Arabic.

Dr. Ott, an orientalist, translator and musician, is one of the most prominent specialists in Arabic Literature. She has translated the oldest manuscripts of the “Tales of Arabian Nights” herself from Arabic to German. She has received among other awards: the Johann Friedrich Von-Cotta Prize.
At the conclusion of the recital, Claudia Ott will sign copies of her book to the audience.

أحتفت الجمعية العربية للتبادل الثقافي (AACE) في ليلتها الثقافية الثانية بالأدب العربي وبالليالي العربية، ذلك باستضافة البروفسورة والمستشرقة الالمانية كلوديا أوت التي قدمت قراءة مشوقة للقصة الاطارية لألف ليلة وليلة، قصة شهريار وشهزمان وشهرزاد، وقد نالت حفاوة وأعجاب الجمهور اللوكسمبورغي والألماني الذي حضر الحفل، كما قدمت قراءات شعرية باللغة العربية من ديوان أبي تمام في حب الوطن والحنين اليه ومن ديوان الامام الشافعي في مدح الغربة، وقد قابلها الجمهور العربي الذي حضر الأمسية بالكثير من التفاعل وقاطعها عدة مرات موجات من التصفيق وطلبات بالاعادة.رافق الضيفة عازفي الموسيقى الشرقية الذين يحضيان بشهرة واسعة في أوساط الموسيقى الشرقية في أوربا؛ عازف الايقاع هادي علي زادة وعازف السنطور كيموسار موسيبي.أختتمت الأمسة بتكريم الضيفة بمنحها لقب سفيرة دولية للثقافة العربية، سلمها التكريم عضو الجمعية الموسيقار اللوكسمبورغي الكبير كاميل كيرشر وقد غطت الحفل وسائل اعلام اوربية وعربية عاملة في لوكسمبورغ.The Arabic Association for Cultural Exchange (AACE) celebrated its second cultural night with Arabic literature and Arabic nights. It hosted the German professor and orientalist Claudia Ott who presented a fascinating reading of the story of the Arabian Nights. The story of Shahriar, Shehzman and Shehrazad. She received warm welcome and admiration of the Luxembourgish and German audience, She also presented poetry readings in Arabic from Abu Tammam's divan in the love of the homeland and nostalgia, and from the Imam Shafei's divan in praise of emigration. The Arab audience, which attended the evening, reacted with a lot of love and interrupted several times with clapping and requests for repetition.The guest was accompanied by oriental instrumentalists who are well-known in Eastern music in Europe; rhythmist Hadi Alizadeh and santory Kimosar Musibi.The evening concluded by honoring the guest by awarding her the title of international Ambassador for Arab culture. The honor was given by AACE member, the great Luxembourg musician Camille Kerger. The event was covered European and Arab media working in Luxembourg@by photos :Joseph EMILE .
